Are you wearing the right bra size?
Most likely not… half of women wear the wrong bra size. This can be very uncomfortable and does not provide the right support. This can result in neck, shoulder, head or back problems. In addition, it can also ensure that the breasts are not flattered... that is also a shame ;)
How do you recognize the wrong bra size?
The size
The band around your torso should be nice and horizontal all around and not too tight, under the breasts and under the shoulder blades. Is your band a lot higher than that? Then you have the wrong width. You can also recognize the wrong width if you really need to tighten the shoulder straps. There is a good chance that you will try to create support for the breasts to compensate for the missing support from the size. If your size is so tight that the entire stretch is pulled out of the band, then there is a good chance that it is really too small...
The cups
The underwire of the bra should fit perfectly into the fold of the breast. It often happens that the underwire ends before the breast fold, which means the cup is too small. A cup that is too large means that it goes far beyond the fold and goes too far under/behind the armpit.
Common mistakes!
Many women think that the cup is too big if the cup is open, the breast does not fill the entire volume of the preformed cup. This does not necessarily mean that the cup is too big. If the underwire fits well and the cup deviates from the breast, you simply do not have the right model. There are many different models of bras. However, this is another story ;)
You think you have the right size?? Fine!!!
But…. Then it becomes a bit more complicated... it also varies per brand or store whether the size suits you well. Just like with your pants, at one store you might have size 38, and at another, 42 really fits better. So there really is no point in taking a measurement at a good lingerie store and then ordering bras from different stores or web shops.
